One Texas Rocker owner enjoyed her rocker so much she
composed a poem honoring it:
Pure Texas comfort, pure hospitality,
made by human hands, not just machines, you are.
The log surveyed, the choice is made, this one will be a beauty.
Sanded, polished, labored over, now it's ready for duty
for holding a nodding-headed babe, or a seat to shell the peas in.
A double rocker for two, or do you want just one and squeeze in?
Now, being a native Yankee, I might buy one for my cousin,
but I hear that native Texans buy them by the dozen.
Whether twelve or six are needed, or if all you need is one,
it will soon become "your spot" for when your work is done.
And when you sit down to think a spell, or croon a lullaby,
you'll be movin' back and forth in tune with Texas.
You'll be a mighty lucky gal or guy!
